What this property was

Genetiqo is a genetics education platform: interactive lessons on inheritance, Punnett squares, DNA structure, the curriculum staples that every biology student in the world grinds through and most textbooks make duller than they need to be. The thesis was a teaching tool — visual, interactive, classroom-friendly — sitting at the intersection of education technology and a subject with permanent, guaranteed demand. Evidence recorded in the manuscript

Revenue: zero. Teachers consulted before building: zero — the number that explains every other number. Traffic: negligible, per the audit that parked it. Evergreen-ness of the subject matter: genuinely infinite, and genuinely irrelevant, because demand for a topic is not demand for your product. The eternal market was real; my access to it was zero, and zero percent of infinity is a number I can now compute from experience.

The lesson recorded after launch

Markets aren't reached by deserving to be reached. Before building for any audience, I now ask one filtering question: do I already have, or know exactly how to get, a credible path to fifty real people in this market? For restaurant owners I had answers — calculators they search for, costs they Google at midnight. For biology teachers I had a guess and a memory of high school. The build was fine.
