Eight domains shipped in one day; the five here plus three siblings that grew beyond shell-hood. Build cost per shell: minutes. Hosting cost: effectively nothing — static files on a server already running fifty heavier things. Waitlist signups: nothing I can report as signal; I won't dress up a near-empty table as "early traction." Make the cheap experiment cheap enough and you'll actually run it — that's the real innovation of the shell system, and it's psychological, not technical. But a waitlist measures the intersection of interest and arrival, and if you supply no traffic, you've built a fine instrument and pointed it at the dark. The complete pattern is shell plus a deliberate trickle of attention — a post, a directory listing, a few dollars of the right eyeballs — so that silence becomes meaningful.
